Photo Diary: Tilly's Winter Wonderland High Tea

It's my niece's birthday this week, so to celebrate, me, my sister, my mum and her other nan took her out for afternoon tea for a lot of cake and some girly bonding time. We went to The Sugar Boutique in Knebworth, we've been there before and had a really nice time (read more about that here).

The Sugar Boutique offers four themed afternoon teas: Down the Rabbit Hole, Willy Wonka, Winter Wonderland and Edible Garden. Having had the Alice in Wonderland one before, my sister had wanted to book the Willy Wonka High Tea, which looks amazing. But the owner, Tasha, was out so we had the Christmas themed Winter Wonderland High Tea instead. It was all set up when we got there and it looked really festive and pretty. The food was served on a tiered cake stand with all the savouries on the bottom tier and all the sweets on the top. It has to be said the savoury stuff was good. There were: prawn cocktails served in hollowed out cucumbers, mini chicken, bacon and stuffing & pork, stuffing and apple sandwiches, brie, bacon and cranberry filo tarts. The second tier, the best bit, was all the sweet stuff. We had mini mince pie cupcakes,  chocolate reindeer cupcakes with shortbread antlers, shortbread snowflakes and mini gingerbread houses. Everything was lovely but I loved the gingerbread houses, they were so cute and tasted amazing. We had a really nice time, and more importantly so did Tilly. The food was good and we were made to feel welcome. However, because the owner wasn't there we didn't have quite the same experience we'd had before. Even so I definitely think we would go again.

Prices start at £20 per head, all the contact details can be found here and the High Tea menus can be found here. You can also find them on instagramtwitterfacebook and their website www.sugar-boutique.co.uk
